Jon Cosson is a lifelong classic-car enthusiast based in North Yorkshire, near Thornton-le-Dale. After a career in cyber security and IT, he now spends his time driving, maintaining and writing about the classic cars he owns — including a genuine restomod Jaguar Mk2, an E-Type, an MG TF, an AC Aceca and a Triumph Stag. This archive grew out of his own restomod Mk2.

Why this archive exists

Most of what is written about the Mk2 is either auction copy or concours detail. Very little of it answers the question an owner actually has: if I change this, what will the car be like to drive? This archive tries to answer that from experience with one thoroughly rebuilt car, and to be plain about the limits of that experience.

How the writing is checked

Figures are verified before publication where a reliable source exists. Where one does not, that is said openly and readers are pointed to the workshop manual and the owners' clubs rather than given a guess. Nothing here is sponsored and no supplier pays for a mention.

Get the context

The car this site grew from is documented in The Build: 873 EUT, and the practical material lives in the upgrade guides.
